From Michael Berger's blogsite ( http://www.bankruptcypower.blogspot.com ) on 10 November 2008:

Important Information

“The Bar Date in the Silver State Helicopters Bankruptcy Case, also known as the last day to file a proof of claim, is July 21, 2008. . . . We have completed our filing of Proofs of Claim for each and every one of the 1,367 former SSH Students that we represent. We have sent individual confirmations to many of these clients at their request. . . . If you are our client in the SSH case, the preparation and filing of your Proof of Claim is just one of the services that we provide for you. If you are a former SSH student and you are not our client, we urge you to file your Proof of Claim before the July 21 Bar Date.“

I was asked today, Friday, July 18, how would one go about filing a Proof of Claim.  My response:

"A few months ago, blank proofs of claim were mailed to us by some entity.  It might have been the Bankruptcy Court.  Many of us were curious as to how to fill them out.

"The Bankruptcy Court has a webpage that will answer your question better than I can.

"Good luck."

Most important information for all former students

If you are contacted by a loan agency representative about your loan, say nothing more than, "My training program was not completed." Do not disclose your progress, your certifications or your number of flight hours.  If you have one, you can also state, "You need to speak to my  attorney."

If you have retained the services the Law Office of Michael Jay Berger, their contact information can be found below.  It is not too late to contact them and join the large group of students and CFIs that are using their services.  The larger the group, the less costly will be our per person retainer fees. There is definitely power in numbers.

For more information on the above referenced retainer, visit the Correspondence Page of this site (link on menu to the left).  View the document dated 20 Feb 08 from Michael Berger.
