HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE
Learn More About Rotary
Whether you are a current member or someone who is considering a service club as a way to "get involved," it's important that you learn more about what Rotary does around the world. A visit to the Press Center at Rotary International, or a complete tour of the Anaheim Rotary Club website, will provide you much more information on the significant impact your local Rotary club has on your community and your world.
Membership
Rotary is unique with regard to membership. You must be "invited" to join and a Rotarian must sponsor your membership. There is a high probability you already know a Rotarian. He or she is likely the owner of a business you frequent, a friend heavily involved in the community, or a professional you know, such as a dentist, lawyer, realtor or financial consultant. Your vocation is important to Rotary and it should be represented in a club near where you work or live.
Visit A Meeting
If you are a person with high ethical standards, a desire to make a difference in the world through service to others, and have discretionary authority so you can make the weekly commitment, you should locate the meeting place of a Rotary club near where you work or live and visit a meeting. You can locate a club near you by linking to the Rotary International website.
Fundraising Support
Each Rotary club has it's own fundraising methods. These clubs need your support in donations of time, resources, and money. You may not be able to make the weekly commitment as a member of Rotary, but still want to help your community. Becoming a Rotary supporter offers you that opportunity. Contact a Rotarian to see how you can help.
Identify Needs
The Rotary club in your community is always searching for ways to make a difference in the lives of people. If you know of specific needs, financial or others, contact a member of the Rotary club in your area and let them know about the need. Each club has Community Service and International Service committees that reviews all requests.
