The Easy Clean PI Report: Part 7
7. Physical Exam
3

For most DC’s the written physical exam is a strong suit. What we like to see are the following:
bulletThe vitals
bulletAll orthopedic exams findings
bulletAll neurological findings
bulletROM studies are valuable.
bulletAll complaints must, obviously, be examined.

For copies of Parts 1 through 7 please email JohnTawlian@Shawnsteel.com

Nice DC victory: Barham proves up 3 accidents for one patient.

Steve Barham DC felt sorry for Cathleen Langan who suffered from 3 auto accidents within 11 months. None of the 3 defendants wanted to settle. Each blamed the other 2. So, her attorney was forced to file against all 3 defendants.

Plaintiff faced off against 3 defense law firms. Langan argued each subsequent accident aggravated the earlier accident.

The jury heard about each accident and listen carefully to Dr. Barham’s testimony. He must have convinced the jury that his apportionments were fair and reasonable.

The jury awarded total damages of $17,872.00.

Christiine vs. Olness, Sacramento Superior Court. No. 02 AS 00788.

THE LESSON: Even when your patient has multiple accidents all claims can be consolidated into one effective PI case.
