The Perils of Online Travel Auctions

On-line travel sales have created some new business models, including auctions and reverse auctions. While these selling methods may have value for consumers, they require research and self discipline in order to avoid the pitfalls.
In any type of auction, there are two basic requirements in order to be a successful (and satisfied) bidder: know the value of the item and stop bidding when the price gets too rich. For on-line auctions in particular, pay special attention to service charges and fees -- they can make the difference between a great buy and a big disappointment.
