Top 10 reasons to attend this year's Legislative Conference
on May 10 in Sacramento

10 - Educate yourself about possible changes that will impact your profession and what CCA is doing about it.

9 - It's an opportunity to network with colleagues outside your local district boundaries.

8 - Learn how to be an effective advocate for your profession.

7 - The way insurance companies are using ACOEM to cut off legitimate care should be illegal - and your legislator won't know it unless you tell them.

6 - MDs should not be allowed to determine the medical necessity of chiropractic care. Lawmakers will be considering AB 1549 to allow DCs to become review doctors for "Independent Medical Review" under the workers' compensation system.

5 - This is your opportunity to explain to your lawmaker why he or she needs to rethink how health care is provided in California.

4 - You may not do many bus driver physicals in your practice, but do you want to be told that you can't do a physical? CCA has introduced AB 1256 to allow DCs to perform pre-employment bus driver physical exams. This bill was vetoed last year and needs to go through the legislative process again while we work to get the governor's support. It's your moral obligation to defend every part of your scope of practice for future generations.

3 - CCA has introduced AB 1185 to require all health plans to allow patients to choose a doctor of chiropractic to treat any condition within the chiropractic scope of practice. This landmark bill has absolutely no chance of passage if you do not support it by taking one day out of your life to demonstrate to legislators that this is important to you.

2 - Doctors of chiropractic in the past have gone to jail to protect their practice rights. We are only asking you to close your office one day.

1 - "A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
